Thank you to everybody who's looked at our web site and a special thank you to Janet Yamashita Difley and to Patty and Connor Candia for being our first online customers!
Well, the confetti has settled, the balloons have deflated and we've finally run out of fruit punch. It's been a pretty festive time around here since our launch two weeks ago, but now we're ready to throw down fresh sawdust and get back to work.
CHARLOTTE’S CONUNDRUMOur dear little Urchin Charlotte is a bit of a poet. We say “a bit” because, while she’s very good at poem beginnings and middles, she’s usually tapering off by the ends. This week she wrote a lovely beginning that becomes a very strong middle. Sadly, we’re still looking for an end.
Pudding Clouds
Pudding Clouds up in the sky,
You plopped a raindrop
Right in my eye!
I was mad!
I couldn't see
Why you were so mean to me!
If anybody out there in the audience would like to take a try at finishing her poem, we’ll publish it in our next posting! Please help our sweet Charlotte.
WHAT’S NEW
Our gift boxes have finally arrived! As you can see below, all of our items (except the Little Monsters) will arrive wrapped in white tissue paper and then cradled in a white gift box. We wrap the box in colorful ribbon and then seal the whole package with an Urchin Circus sticker. Delightful, just delightful.

Little Monsters posed a bit of a packaging problem. They are so individually sized and shaped that it’s impossible to choose the perfect box. Our solution? We’re shipping every Little Monster in a hand-made fabric bag that’s as original as its contents. Carrying case or fashion accessory? Now you can choose!

UCMARC
The team running the Urchin Circus Monster Adoption & Rehabilitation Center requested some space to showcase some of the new adoptable monsters. Patterson Klopovich is this week's featured monster.

Patterson Klopovich is the sweetest monster we know. He has passed all of his exams with flying colors. Speaking of colors, we have discovered that he is green because he is really a plant and gets all of his nutrients through photosynthesis. This makes him an incredible addition to your family because you will never need to make him dinner or even a snack. He is kind and generous and we will be very sad to see him leave UCMARC even though we know he will be very happy to find his family.
As a side note, we feel that it is extremely important that he be adopted soon as the Killer Bunnies have been watching him with extreme interest. We fear that they are planning a picnic with our Dear Patterson as the main course.
URCHIN CIRCUSPip and Miriam took a trip to the Zoo this week. They just love the Zoo. Sometimes (when they are acting particularly rambunctious) we suggest that perhaps they belong in the Zoo!
You may or may not know that Pip has quite a lot of drawing talent for his age. He carries his sketchbook everywhere he goes, but he asked us to tell you that the Zoo is his absolute favorite place to draw. We have included a few of the things that he saw on his trip.
Miriam prefers to express herself along other artistic avenues. Her current favorite is interpretive dance. We had to explain to her that the Circus just isn’t wired for video footage yet. Pip came to her rescue by offering to draw her various interpretations of her favorites at the Zoo.
He promised to share a few for our next posting.
On a side note, we noticed that the Killer Bunnies were also at the Zoo. They were spending quite a long time whispering and taking measurements by the Guinea Pig enclosure. Does anybody have any information about what they are up to?
FROM THE COOP
The chickens would like to extend warm pre-Halloween wishes and to remind you that egging houses is never funny. Never.
HAPPY FAMILIES
This is the section where we post pictures of our toys in their natural environment: your homes. Send a photo of you and your new family member (or just your new family member, or just you) to blog@urchincircus.com.
This week we have Connor Candia with his new friend, Ambrose Castanet.

And again Connor with another new friend, Clancy Caterwaul.

And yet again Connor with the one-eyed Salacious Sam.

And finally Connor with the three-headed Passion, Candor, Bliss.

Connor proves that age-old adage: there’s always room for one more Little Monster in every family. A shout out to Connor Candia from UCMARC!
Thanks for being a part of our story.
Until next week,
The Staff at Urchin Circus.

your toys are really awesome, but i'm sorry, i'm not gonna pay those prices
We know that our shop isn't for everybody. We take a lot of pride in hand crafting our toys and paying a great deal of attention to detail. Our mission is to provide our customer with toys that are more like soft sculpture companions with their own personalities.
We are, however, still working on our pricing structure, so please stop back from time to time as prices may change.
Thanks for the comment!
